Caustic soda (also known as sodium hydroxide) is a versatile and widely used industrial chemical used in a wide range of industries including textiles, pulp and paper, alumina, soap and detergents, petroleum refining and water treatment. It is usually sold in two physical states: liquid (alkali) and solid (flakes). Caustic soda flakes are easier to transport over long distances and are the preferred product for export. The company is the second largest caustic soda producer in India with an annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes.
