Ingestion will corrode the oral cavity and digestive tract, leading to gastrointestinal reactions, collapse, convulsions, shock, and even death. Oxalic acid can also cause obvious kidney damage and eventually uremia. It may combine with calcium ions in the body to induce hypocalcemia. Long-term inhalation of its vapor can lead to neurasthenic syndrome, headache, vomiting, nasal mucosal ulcers, proteinuria, and anemia.
