Bisphenol A (BPA) is a phenol derivative, accounting for about 30% of the demand for phenol. Its demand is growing rapidly, and it is mainly used in the production of polymer materials such as polycarbonate (PC), epoxy resin, polysulfone resin, and polyphenylene ether resin. It can also be used as a heat stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, an anti-aging agent for rubber, an agricultural insecticide, an antioxidant for paints and inks, a plasticizer, a flame retardant, and an ultraviolet absorber, etc.
