The production method of calcium formate belongs to the technical field of chemical product manufacturing. Calcium formate is a widely used organic chemical raw material. Currently, existing calcium formate production methods suffer from high product costs and excessive impurities.
This technology involves a condensation reaction of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and calcium hydroxide in a molar ratio of 4.2~8:1:0.5~0.6, followed by a further reaction with formic acid. The process is as follows:Acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, calcium hydroxide, and formic acid are added to a condensation kettle in the above ratio for reaction, with the temperature controlled between 16°C and 80°C, and the reaction time set to 1.5~4 hours. After the reaction, the solution is adjusted to neutral. The resulting solution is subjected to pressure distillation, vacuum concentration, and centrifugal drying to produce calcium formate; the centrifugal mother liquor is recovered to yield pentaerythritol.
