Calcium Formate is a new-type feed additive. Its molecular formula is Ca(HCOO)₂, with a molecular weight of 130. Calcium Formate appears as a white or pale yellow powder or crystal, is non-toxic, and has a slightly bitter taste. It is soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol; its aqueous solution is neutral, with a bulk density of 0.9-1 g/cm³. It decomposes when heated to 400°C.
