1. Carbon Monoxide Synthesis Method
1.1 Reaction Principle
Sodium formate is produced by reacting carbon monoxide with sodium hydroxide solution at 160–200°C under a pressure of 2 MPa. The resulting sodium formate is then subjected to sulfuric acid acidification and distillation to obtain finished formic acid.
1.2 Process Overview
The process uses coke as the raw material. First, carbon monoxide gas is generated through gasification, dust removal, water washing, decarbonization, and secondary dust removal. The carbon monoxide is then heated and pressurized to react with sodium hydroxide, forming a sodium formate solution. The solution is subsequently evaporated, separated, and dried to produce solid sodium formate.
