After passing through an oil-water separator, it enters a mixer where it combines with lye from a preheater. Under certain temperature and pressure conditions, the lye reacts with most of the carbon dioxide, which is essentially removed, yielding the carbon monoxide gas required for the process.
    Main reaction equations for the compression process:
    CO₂ + 2NaOH → Na₂CO₃ + H₂O
    CO₂ + NaOH → NaHCO₃
    Synthesis: The carbon monoxide gas and nitrogen from the previous step are heated to 140~150°C and fed into a synthesis reactor. Inside the reactor, carbon monoxide reacts with sodium hydroxide to form sodium formate solution. The mixture of sodium formate solution, nitrogen, and trace carbon monoxide is depressurized and sent to a liquid-gas separator for phase separation. The sodium formate solution is pumped into storage tanks for later use, while the mixed gas is vented to the atmosphere.

    CO + NaOH → HCOONa
